Gösta Bruce Memorial Fund — Uses
The IPA uses the fund to support the Gösta Bruce scholarship — travel awards for student members to present their research at the International Congress of Phonetic Sciences. Half of the scholarships awarded will be given to students carrying out research on prosody and half for research on other areas of phonetics. The scholarships will be distributed to students from a variety of countries, paying particular attention to applications from students working in countries where funding opportunities are limited.
For ICPhS 2011, ten scholarships for the amount of 300 Euros will be awarded. The deadline for applications is 20 May 2011.
Applications for the award should include:
- The e-mail notification of acceptance of paper by the ICPhS organisers
- A one-page letter from student discussing the originality and contribution of research
- A supporting letter from the supervisor of the research or other research mentor
Students should send their applications to the Secretary, Patricia Keating, firstname.lastname@example.org.
